When did you start your business and what led you there?   Having been in the creative industry producing videos for over 12 years, I started Gryffe Weddings about 3 years ago. Where did you get married? Describe your day… Myself and my beautiful wife to be Yvonne have been so busy building up both of our businesses (Yvonne runs Angelfins Wedding Stationery) and bringing our babies into the world, we haven’t found the time to get married yet.

When we do manage stop working long enough to tie the knot, it will be the most amazing day of my life.

What is your motto?  ‘Is it cocktail hour yet?’

What are you most looking forward to at the Vintage Wedding Show?  Meeting a lot of new brides who already have a great vision of what they want their wedding day to look like, and helping them record that memory to watch back and cherish for years to come.

Imagejojos

Name:  Joanna

Place of birth:  Edinburgh

Most memorable event:  All of my memories of hot and sunny places – I’m an absolute traveling addict.

Top notch vintage buy: A real pearl necklace for a bargain price.

Truly awful vintage buy:  A teenage phase of buying lots of 1970s psychedelic shirts from Armstrong’s.

Best loved era:  It simply has to be the 1950s although I would equally love to dance the night away in a 1920s Paris.

Most treasured possession:  All of the antique furniture which is in the boutique as it has all been in my family for four generations and I like to think it brings me luck.

When did you start your business and what led you there?  Lady JoJo’s opened two years ago and it all very much happened by accident as I never even dreamt that I could make a living out of my passions.  It began after University when I was helping to manage some local small business and that really gave me the self-esteem boost I needed to believe it is something I could do myself.

Describe your business:  Lady JoJo’s is a vintage inspired clothing boutique.  We began by stocking outside designers but after a good year of research and hard work, I eventually managed to launch our own Lady JoJo’s range.  Since this launch we have been getting inundated with requests for wedding dresses in our trademark 1950s style but which also have a recession friendly price tag.  The Vintage Wedding Show will be the first time that we show this bridal collection!

What is your motto?  I’m a huge believer in Karma and think that everything you do, both professional and personal, should be done with nothing but good intentions.

What are you most looking forward to at the Vintage Wedding Show?   Fawning over all of the beautiful goodies!  I’m going to be a bridesmaid for one of my best friends soon so I can’t wait to have a good nosey around with her.
